VERMIWASH

HIGHLY NUTRITIOUS FOR PLANTS

Pure and natural nourishment- vermicompost transforms soil into thriving ecosystem, feeding plants with rich organic matter for healthier growth.

MORE ABOUT VERMICOMPOST

What is Vermicompost?

Vermicompost is a nutrient-rich organic fertilizer produced through the natural breakdown of biodegradable waste by earthworms. These hardworking worms consume materials like kitchen scraps, cow dung, and crop residues, and excrete castings that are packed with plant-friendly nutrients and beneficial microbes. The result? A dark, crumbly, odorless compost that’s often called “black gold” by gardeners and farmers.

Benefits of Vermicompost

  • Improves Soil Structure   Enhances aeration, porosity, and water retention, creating an ideal environment for root development.
  • Boosts Nutrient Availability   Rich in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium (NPK), calcium, magnesium, and micronutrients—all in forms easily absorbed by plants.
  • Enhances Microbial Activity   Introduces beneficial bacteria and fungi that support nutrient cycling and suppress harmful pathogens.
  • Promotes Vigorous Plant Growth   Stimulates shoot and leaf development, leading to higher yields and healthier crops.
  • Balances Soil pH   Helps neutralize acidic or alkaline soils, making nutrients more accessible to plants.
  • Suppresses Diseases and Pests   Natural compounds and microbes in vermicompost reduce the incidence of soil-borne diseases and insect attacks.
  • Improves Water Efficiency   Retains moisture in sandy soils and improves drainage in clay soils, reducing water stress during dry spells

APPLICATION METHODOLOGY FOR VERMICOMPOST

For Small Pots

For Kitchen Garden

For Small Pots

Initial Planting

  • Mix 1 part vermicompost with 3 parts potting soil.
  • Fill the pot with this blend before planting.

Periodic Maintenance

  • Gently remove the top 2-3 cm layer of soil.
  • Sprinkle 100–200 g of vermicompost evenly as a top dressing.
  • Re-cover with the removed soil and pat lightly.
  • Water immediately to activate nutrients.
  • Reapply after 15 days.

For Big Pots

For Kitchen Garden

For Small Pots

Initial Planting

  • Mix 2 parts vermicompost with 5 parts garden soil and 1 part sand or cocopeat for improved aeration.
  • Fill the pot with this blend and plant as usual.
  • For extra boost, add 100–150 g vermicompost at the root zone during planting.

Periodic Maintenance

  • Gently loosen the top 4–5 cm of soil without disturbing roots.
  • Apply 250–500 g of vermicompost per pot as a top dressing, depending on pot size and plant demand.
  •  Re-cover with loosened soil.
  • Reapply after 15 days.

Soil Preparation (Before Planting)

  • Mix 350–450 g of vermicompost per sq. ft of garden bed.
  • Blend thoroughly into the top 15–20 cm of soil a week before sowing or transplanting.
  • Optionally, mix in biochar for added soil vitality.

Planting Time

  • At the time of sowing or transplanting, apply a handful (~100 g) of vermicompost directly into the planting hole or row.
  • This gives seedlings a strong start and enhances root development.

Regular Top Dressing

  • Every 15–20 days, apply 100–150 g/ft² around the base of established plants.
  • Lightly loosen the soil, top-dress with vermicompost, then water immediately.

For Fruit Orchards

For Fruit Orchards

For Kitchen Garden

At Planting Stage

  • Mix 2–3 kg of vermicompost with the pit soil during planting.
  • Optionally add 500 g biochar to enhance moisture retention and microbial activity.
  • Place the enriched mix around the root zone and water thoroughly.

 For Established Trees

  • Young Trees (1–3 years):   Apply 2–5 kg vermicompost per tree.
  • Mature Trees (4+ years):   Apply 5–10 kg vermicompost per tree, depending on canopy size and soil fertility.
  • Remove mulch (if any) and lightly loosen the top 6–8 cm of soil around the drip line (canopy edge).
  • Evenly broadcast the vermicompost and re-mulch after application.
  • Irrigate immediately to activate microbial life and nutrient release.

For Large Fields

For Fruit Orchards

For Large Fields

Soil Preparation (Before Sowing)

  • Apply 1 to 2 tons of vermicompost per acre depending on soil health and crop demand.
  • Spread evenly across the field and incorporate into the top 15–20 cm of soil during final tillage.
  • For maximum microbial activity, apply 7–10 days before sowing.

At Sowing or Transplanting

  • Apply 200–250 g per planting hole for row crops (e.g., brinjal, tomato, papaya).
  • For line-sown crops, apply 100–150 g/meter row within the seed trench.

 Top Dressing (At Mid-Crop Stage)

  • Side-dress with 200–400 kg/acre around the root zone at 20–30 days after sowing or during vegetative growth.
  • Lightly incorporate into the soil and irrigate immediately.

MORE ABOUT VERMIWASH

What is Vermiwash?

Vermiwash is a liquid bio-fertilizer collected from vermicompost beds. It’s essentially the runoff water that passes through layers of organic waste and earthworms, absorbing their excretory products, mucus secretions, and nutrient-rich microbial content. The result is a pale yellow, transparent fluid packed with enzymes, plant hormones, vitamins, and beneficial microbes.

Benefits of Vermiwash

  • Natural Plant Tonic   Stimulates growth and enhances flowering and fruiting, especially in crops like tomato, chilli, and banana.
  • Rich in Growth Hormones   Contains auxins, gibberellins, and cytokinins that promote root development and shoot elongation.
  • Improves Soil Health   Boosts microbial activity, enhances nutrient cycling, and improves soil texture and fertility.
  • Disease Resistance   Acts as a biocontrol agent against fungal and bacterial pathogens, reducing the need for chemical pesticides.
  • Eco-Friendly Pest Repellent   When mixed with neem or garlic extract, it helps repel common pests naturally.

APPLICATION METHODOLOGY OF VERMIWASH

For Plants

  • Foliar Spray:   Mix 1 liter of vermiwash with 10 liters of water and spray on leaves in the early morning or evening.
  • Soil Application:   Apply near the root zone to improve soil health and root growth.
  • Seedling Dip:   Dip plant cuttings or seedlings in diluted vermiwash before transplanting to boost survival and vigor
