Banbasi, a pioneering startup incubated at IGKV Raipur, working towards ending hidden hunger by eliminating micronutrient deficiency and nurturing healthier, more resilient communities. Through innovative & organic cultivation of microgreens and oyster mushrooms, we deliver nutrient-rich foods while ensuring minimal environmental impact by repurposing farming by-products into sustainable solutions.
Our vision is to create a healthier, resilient society free from hidden hunger by cultivating & offering nutrient-rich microgreens and oyster mushrooms. Through sustainable practices that repurpose food production waste into vermicompost, we aim to nourish communities while restoring the environment—building a future where nutrition security and ecological responsibility go hand in hand.
We are steadfast to eliminate hidden hunger caused by micronutrient deficiency and to pave the way for healthier, thriving communities. In every step of farming, we repurpose farming waste into nutrient-rich vermicompost, ensuring that our approach is not only nourishing but also sustainable and environmentally responsible.

Microgreens are tiny plants packed with flavor, nutrition, and versatility—they’re harvested young, usually within 7–14 days of germination, and used to elevate both taste and presentation in modern cuisine. It is known to have 4-40X more nutrient density than their own counterpart.

By using the dry agriculture waste as organic medium, we grow high-quality oyster mushrooms—an alternate, plant-based protein that supports clean nutrition and responsible farming. It's a thoughtful solution that uplifts rural livelihoods, reduces environmental impact, and feeds a growing demand for sustainable food.

We transform farming by-product into premium-quality vermicompost through a natural, earthworm-driven process. This initiative reflects our commitment towards nature—where everyday farming waste becomes a powerful asset for ecological renewal.

We directly buy agricultural residues like paddy straw, from farmers—materials that would otherwise be burnt or discarded, harming both environment and income potential. By putting into the use, we not only reduce air pollution but also offer farmers a valuable alternative revenue stream.

Biochar is a dark, carbon-rich substance created through pyrolysis—a clean, high-temperature process that thermally decomposes plant based organic material in the absence of oxygen. From sustainable agriculture to environmental restoration, biochar is a transformative tool that turns waste biomass into a long-term resource for soil, climate, and clean water.

We collaborate closely with farmers to create alternative income sources by transforming agricultural waste into valuable products. At the same time, we guide them toward regenerative practices—restoring soil health, conserving resources, and reducing environmental impact. By proving that “no waste is a waste,” we’re helping farming communities thrive sustainably while building a circular, resilient agricultural future.
